One of the best parts of NASAGA is the opportunity to play board/card games for entertainment rather than learning. This year I owe thanks to Scott ( Nicholson) and Greg … between them, they brought a good supply (I estimate they had at least 60 games between the two of them).
Of course we only played a small fraction of those games, and I do not remember all that we played, but here are a few of them.
Tsuro (designed by Tom McMurchie, published in North America by Calliope games) is a lovely abstract tile game with an interesting argument between competition and cooperation. While Ta Yu remains my all-time favourite tile game, Tsuro is quite different and it does offer a couple of benefits… 1) it can play with up to eight players and 2) it is in print.
